Our Story
In late 2020, when the world was going absolutely crazy with the onset of a deadly global pandemic, protests against racial injustice, a contentious presidential election and widespread natural disasters, God began to stir the hearts of Pastors Ed & Pearl Canty about some impending change in their life. Though both had been involved in ministry and ministry leadership for years, neither saw God’s next move coming.
In November, through prayer and a Holy Spirit led confirmation, they verbally, to one another and God, committed to planting a church in Charlotte North Carolina. At that time, they did not know when the church would be launched since most things were still on lock down due to COVID-19. They assumed they would have at least a year to plan and launch sometime in 2022.
God had other plans and confirmed with them both in Jan 2021 on the same day and roughly around the same time that they were to launch ThePLACE (divinely given name) on April 4, 2021 which was Easter. Since then a number of people have been “Connected in Community” by gathering together to fellowship, worship and to hear the Word of God in ThePLACE where God Dwells!!

At ThePLACE, we value community and believe that we can make a difference in the lives of others through service. We have a Community Outreach program on the 3rd Saturday of every month, where we come together to serve the community around us. We invite you to join us in this mission and make a positive impact with your time and skills.
